Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Review!

I have been extremely impressed by David Yates ' portrayal of the much loved series in the last 3 films, but not as impressed as I am now. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, in a nut shell an epic epic war film. Everything moves so fast, there is alot Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron( Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) need to do. Most importantly is to find the 3 remaining Horcruxes. After having a captivating adventure in Gringotts Wizarding Bank we are thrown back into Hogwarts for the final battle. Here it gets emotional. We are reunited with old friends like Neville and Professor McGonagall and soon enough the whole wizarding world has come together to fight against evil. Yates created a moving portrayal of these last few scenes and has stayed loyal to J.K Rowlings story.

The story starts exactly where Part 1 finished, at Shell Cottage! We are reminded that Dobby is dead and that Lord Voldemort( Ralph Fiennes) has secured the Elder Wand. Quickly a plan erupts and they head to Gringotts to look for the 4th horcrux. I was amazed by the scenes in Gringotts, especially the acting by Helena Bonham Carter who plays Bellatrix Lestrange. She really captured the essence of Hermione's character, she was playing her character but in hugely different way! There are some amazing set pieces here also, which of course are CGI! After twists and turns at Gringotts and a dragon being captured,we get transported back to where it all started. Hogwarts. Here is where a very tense battle between good and evil begins, while the Trio still try and find and destroy the Horcruxes. We also get passionate moments between Harry and Ginny and finally Hermione and Ron. Aswell, we get a nice moment between Neville and Luna where he declares, "I'm mad about her!". Some touching scenes arise when Harry finally relises his destiny and goes towards the Forbidden Forest to meet it. Yates captures here the one scene in the book where he HAD to get it right, he totally does! It's perfect.

This film is defiantly the best of the lot. Captivating, dramatic and EPIC! In the last seven films we have seen a little bit of doggy acting by the three main actors, especially in Prisoner of Azkaban where the whole " He was there friend" scene erupted, but we wont divulge into that fiasco. But in Deathly Hallows Part 2 and 1 I felt like Daniel, Rupert and Emma strip it all back and gave very vulnerable and honest performances. With all the very acclaimed actors in the cast especially Ralph Fiennes and Alan Rickman, who gave a very very real performance of Severus Snape, on whole the acting in this film was phenomenal. One of my favourite things about this film aswell was the score. The music really fit together well with the scenes that was happening, it really added to the atmosphere.

If I'm honest there was nothing really I didn't enjoy. As a fan, obviously I'll consider all the things that we're cut out of the film but really it didn't matter. All in all, it was a very satisfying film. It reminded me so much of watching the first ever one 10 years ago and how truly magical it all has been. What a good way to end the series as they have done. I won't deny that I cried my eyes out!
